Opal Foods has an opening at our Iowa Feed Mill servicing locations in Hampton, Iowa Falls, and Coulter with a schedule of Monday through Friday dayshift. We are offering $30 per hour for a qualified candidate.
This position is responsible for safely hauling loads of feed to various company facilities and from grain storage facilities while maintaining compliance with all company policies, DOT rules, and governmental regulations. In addition to driving responsibilities the Iowa drivers are also responsible for receiving feed ingredients, operating feed grinding and mixing equipment, and ensuring the accuracy of feed batches while maintaining compliance with all company policies and governmental regulations.
Essential Job Functions:
Complete feed orders by printing feed tickets, examining order, filling trailer with correct feed mixture, and delivering to the correct location and into the designated feed bin
Communicate with Feed Mill Manager and lead person on any issues
Clean up feed spills, and communicate with farm managers to ensure proper removal
Maintain basic upkeep on trucks, complete DOT required inspections, and communicate to feed mill manager and coordinate completion of needed repairs
Report any traffic violations per CDL policies and procedures
Maintain compliance with company policies and government regulations including biosecurity, safety, and DOT policies
Other duties as required
Required Qualifications:
Class A CDL with 1 year of CDL Driving experience
Clean Accident/Driving History
Ability to learn and operate computer programs related to feed milling, ingredient receiving, and product load out
Read, write, and speak in English
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
Must demonstrate good work ethic
