To strengthen our team in Milan we are currently looking for a:
QA Leader
You’ll be a senior individual contributor with real cross-team influence: the person who defines how we test, what we automate, and how quality becomes everyone’s responsibility rather than a gate at the end of the pipeline. You’ll support engineering teams in delivering high-quality software solutions.
We run Scrum with two-week sprints across multiple product squads building complex financial software — web applications (Angular / Java Spring Boot) and native mobile apps (iOS and Android).
Quality engineering is a key pillar of our delivery model: from acceptance criteria defined before a sprint begins, to automated gates in CI/CD, to structured regression across client environments. We’re looking for someone who can own and continuously raise that bar.

Main Activities
Test Strategy & Governance
-
Define and own the overall test strategy across squads — coverage targets, risk-based priorities, regression approach, and a Definition of Done with real teeth.
-
Facilitate Three Amigos sessions (BA + Dev + QA) before each sprint, ensuring acceptance criteria are written, testable and tracked in Jira before a single line of code is committed.
-
build upgrade and release checklists that prevent the kind of regression incidents that erode client confidence.
Automation & Tooling
-
Define and evolve the test automation framework end-to-end: architecture, tooling choices, standards, long-term maintenance.
-
Design and maintain CI/CD quality gates that block defective code before it reaches production, and define coverage standards across unit, integration, end-to-end and regression tests for both web and mobile.
Mobile Quality
-
Define and own the testing strategy for our native iOS (Swift/Obj-C) and Android (Kotlin/Java) applications — device/OS coverage matrices, automated test suites, and regression coverage across upgrade cycles and client-specific environments.
Cross-Squad Quality Leadership
-
Act as the quality authority across the engineering organisation — not through hierarchy, but through expertise and trust, which will be the key focus.
-
Running regular quality alignment meetings, coaching developers and QA engineers, and advocating for testability at the design stage before problems become expensive.
-
contribute to improving development and testing workflows in a modern engineering environment and actively participate in release validation, defect management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
Candidate's Experience and Qualifications
-
5+ years in software quality engineering, at least 2 in a senior or lead individual contributor role.
-
Experience in building automation frameworks from scratch
-
Hands-on experience with native mobile testing on iOS and/or Android (Appium, XCTest, Espresso or equivalent).
-
Experience or strong familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments and you understand where quality fits in the delivery cycle — not after it.
-
Demonstrated capability with Frontend automation for Angular/TypeScript (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright or equivalent)
-
Strong experience with web and API testing methodologies (Postman, REST-assured)
-
Proven ability with test management tooling (Jira Xray, Zephyr or equivalent)
-
Understanding of CI/CD pipeline integration and quality gate design
-
Proven knowledge of English language – written and spoken
-
Background in fintech, banking or regulated software environments is a genuine advantage.
Candidate's Skills and Personal Qualities
-
Ability to challenge existing practices constructively and propose improvements.
-
Ability to balance quality objectives with delivery timelines.
-
strong communication and collaboration skills.
-
Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
What We Offer
-
Direct collaboration with engineering leadership and cross-functional product teams.
-
The opportunity to contribute to software solutions supporting investment professionals across more than 15 countries.
-
An engineering team committed to evolving its practices and continuously improving the quality of its products and processes.
-
Hybrid working arrangement based in Milan.
-
Permanent employment with remuneration commensurate with seniority and experience.
-
Benefits — e.g. welfare, ticket, health insurance, discounts with our partners.
