Manage the complete SAP S/4HANA RISE lifecycle, including implementation, migration, upgrades, release planning, patch management, system maintenance, and operational governance.
Monitor and review SAP system builds, installations, support package stacks, enhancement packs, kernel upgrades, system refreshes, client copies, and performance tuning activities.
Plan and execute SAP system copies, refreshes, Unicode conversions, OS/DB migrations, and landscape transformation projects.
Recommend system enhancements, architecture improvements, and upgrade strategies to improve system efficiency, scalability, reliability, and performance.
Manage SAP transport management, client administration, change control, and release management processes.
Ensure SAP environments meet high availability, disaster recovery, backup, recovery, and business continuity requirements.
Administer SAP HANA databases including backup/recovery, system replication, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
SAP Technical Leadership
Configure and support complex, multi-platform SAP application environments and provide technical leadership across SAP technologies.
Define technical architecture and infrastructure requirements for SAP projects and ensure technical deliverables are appropriately scoped and executed.
Develop, review, and oversee execution of technical implementation plans, validation activities, and deployment strategies.
Develop and execute technical test plans supporting SAP infrastructure changes, upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
Ensure solutions are properly built, tested, validated, and successfully cut over into production environments.
Provide production readiness reviews and post-implementation support for new SAP capabilities.
Partner with SAP and cloud providers to evaluate emerging technologies and deploy fit-for-purpose, scalable solutions that meet business and performance requirements.
Stay current with SAP product roadmaps, cloud technologies, automation capabilities, and industry best practices to recommend innovative solutions.
Cloud, Infrastructure & Security
Support SAP workloads across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or RISE-managed cloud environments.
Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity teams to maintain secure, resilient, and highly available SAP platforms.
Implement and maintain SAP security best practices including SSL certificates, Secure Network Communications (SNC), Identity and Access Management (IAM), Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and vulnerability remediation.
Support cloud infrastructure optimization, automation, monitoring, and performance management.
Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards, audit requirements, and regulatory controls.
Operations & Production Support
Provide technical leadership for SAP production support and serve as an escalation point for complex SAP Basis issues.
Provide first-level technical support for SAP Basis infrastructure issues and work directly with SAP Support and technical vendors to resolve critical production incidents.
Perform root cause analysis for production issues and implement preventive and corrective actions.
Monitor system availability, capacity, performance, and operational health using SAP monitoring tools.
Develop automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies to improve operational efficiency.
Provide ongoing IT operational support for delivered SAP solutions throughout their lifecycle.
Governance & Project Delivery
Establish and maintain governance processes that preserve solution integrity while minimizing unnecessary customizations.
Define technical standards, operational procedures, documentation, and SAP Basis best practices.
Participate in architecture reviews, project planning, change advisory boards, and technical design discussions.
Collaborate with functional teams, developers, infrastructure teams, security teams, and business stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
Mentor junior SAP Basis administrators and provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams.
Ensure project deliverables meet quality, security, compliance, and operational support requirements.
Compliance & Quality
Follow all applicable GxP regulations, industry standards, corporate policies, and quality requirements to ensure regulatory compliance.
Execute responsibilities in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and established operational processes.
Adhere to Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Data Integrity principles to ensure documentation, records, and system evidence are accurate, complete, and audit ready.
Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, computer system validation (CSV), and compliance assessments as required.
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
10–12 years of progressive SAP Basis Administration experience supporting large enterprise SAP environments.
Extensive experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP HANA, SAP NetWeaver, SAP Fiori, SAP Solution Manager or Cloud ALM, and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
Demonstrated experience managing SAP RISE lifecycle activities including implementation, migration, upgrades, release management, and production support.
