Guide complex healthcare projects from early programming and planning through design and construction. Lead medical planning and translate clinical workflows into functional design solutions while mentoring colleagues.
Requires 10+ years of architectural or interiors experience with a degree in Architecture or Interior Design and professional licensure. Must possess deep expertise in healthcare regulatory codes, FGI guidelines, and proficiency in Revit.
Description
We are looking for an experienced Healthcare Designer and Medical Planner to join Mahlum’s collaborative, award-winning healthcare practice in our Portland Office.
In this role, you will guide complex healthcare projects from early programming and planning through design and construction. In this role, you will create thoughtful planning and design solutions that support patients, caregivers, staff, and communities.
You will work closely with clients, clinical users, project managers, designers, and technical team members. Depending on your experience and interests, you may also take on increasing responsibility for project coordination, client communication, and project management.
This position may be filled at the Design Staff IV or Design Staff V level, depending on experience and depth of healthcare expertise.

The annual base pay range for this role is anticipated to be between $90,000 and $125,000. Actual compensation will be carefully determined based on several factors, including skills, qualifications, and experience. Mahlum employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonus compensation in addition to their salary.
This role requires the individual to be based in the Portland Metro area.
