Plan and teach three 90-minute Irish language classes per week for beginner to advanced beginner adult learners. Responsibilities include managing class resources via Zoom and coordinating with staff to ensure program success.
Candidates should have over 3 years of experience teaching Irish, preferably to adults, and experience using the Zoom platform. Accreditation in Irish Language Instruction and knowledge of the NYC Irish community are preferred.

We are delighted to provide learning and engagement experiences for everyone—from anywhere!—with in-person and online classes in music, dance, Irish language, and storytelling.
Irish Arts Center is looking to hire an experienced Irish Language Instructor to teach online courses in total beginner to advanced beginner level Irish, as part of our Fall 2026, Winter 2027 and Spring 2027 education terms. Irish Arts Center students are adult learners with little to no experience with Irish and are generally seeking a basic introduction to the language regarding vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and practical use in conversation.
The position pays $65-70 an hour for online classes and/or $70-75 hour for In Person classes based on prior experience. Classes are held for 1.5 hour class sessions and run for 8 weeks per term. Online classes are held via the ZOOM Platform and In Person classes are held at Irish Arts Center located at 726 11th Avenue NY, NY 10019. This is a 4.5 hour per week commitment based on the number of classes taught as follows:

Founded in 1972, throughout our history the Center has also provided community education programs and access to the arts for adults and children of all ages and ethnic, racial and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Irish Arts Center recently completed construction of a $60 million landmark new permanent home, including a state of the art flexible performance and arts space for the presentation and development of work across a range of disciplines, including music, dance, theatre, film, visual arts, literature and the humanities; classrooms and studio spaces for education programs, development, and collaboration; technology to stream and distribute content on the digital platform; and an avenue-facing lobby café that is a hub for hospitality and interaction between artists and audiences. As part of a second phase, IAC will renovate its adjacent existing 51st Street building to provide a second, intimate performance space—the historic Irish Arts Center theatre—optimized for the most intimate live music and conversation, recordings, podcasts, master classes and special events, and a courtyard entrance on 51st Street where the historic Irish Arts Center and the new building meet.
