Description

IMC’s roots in dirt floor foundries have blossomed into worldwide recognition in the copper anode and copper rod production industry. Dedicated management teams led the company expansion to a new 160,000 square foot copper and brass mill in the 1990s. Today, the site is an industry beacon, operating as a state-of-the-art, technologically-advanced and environmentally-friendly facility, with plenty of space for future expansion.

Summary: Responsible for the accuracy of all incoming and outgoing shipments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklift in a safe productive manner
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Inspect all incoming raw materials for contaminants
  • Pull samples as needed and turn sample into the lab for further analysis
  • Weigh and document all incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy
  • Keep work areas and docks clean at all times
  • Print shipping labels when needed
  • Conduct cycle counts on finished goods on a routine basis
  • Cross reference purchase orders with incoming shipments
  • Assist production in activities including but not limited to wrapping coils, organizing staging areas, housekeeping, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience:

High School Diploma and experienced in shipping and receiving.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and work procedures. Ability to write production quotas and downtime hours.

Math Ability:

Ability to do basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fraction, and percentages

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

Label machine and Microsoft suite

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb and balance. The employee must regularly lift or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Must have ability to talk and hear.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to hot humid conditions.

The employee is frequently exposed to molten metal and equipment, moving mechanical parts, and places requiring balance. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat. Work is performed mostly inside of plant. When work is performed outside there is full exposure to the elements.

PPE Requirements

While performing the normal duties of this job, an employee must wear safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toe shoe/boots, nitrile palmed gloves, and a long sleeve shirt.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

The customer is always the ultimate focus, which is why IMC’s manufacturing process is engineered to produce hot-rolled and fine-grained copper, which is preferred in end-user processes. Each step of IMC’s high-speed production is closely and continuously computer-monitored, from analytical testing of raw feed, through alloying and at final quality certification. In this way strict customer specifications are assured. More than 50% of our product volume is sold in 40+ countries, primarily utilizing a global network of agents and distributors. Our system of freight forwarders, intermodal carriers and steamship lines give us the worldwide reach needed to put our products in the most demanding end-use applications. It takes experience and expertise to meet the current and future needs of a global industry. We have specialists able to work one-on-one with customers on everything from special skid designs, to custom chemistry and to unique copper configurations for custom applications.
