Position Summary
Under the direction of the Food & Beverage management and supervisory team, this position is responsible for creating Great Experiences and Memories and a WOW factor for guests! While buffet service is a more streamlined model of table service – the stellar Buffet Server actively seeks ways to CONNECT with guests and strives to exceed expectations while providing quality food and beverage service in high volume, fast paced area.
The Buffet Server is collaborative, excels at multi-tasking and displays exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Contributes to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees and is master of teamwork! Above all else, must embrace and be aligned with Casino Nova Scotia’s culture and philosophy of providing outstanding entertainment experiences.
Key Accountabilities
Provides quality food and beverage service in a high volume area
Responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of all work areas including guest seating and side stations
Actively seeks opportunities to CONNECT with buffet guests: offers appropriate information and product knowledge; promotes contests, giveaways, concerts and; gives any needed assistance
Ensures a WOW factor for buffet guests – takes buffet service to the next level!
Finds ways to play; you are serious about work, without being serious
Chooses to make every day a great day
Stays focused in order to be there
Delivers an exceptional entertainment experience to internal and external guests to ensure you make their day
Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership, employees, vendors and regulators
Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Education and Qualifications
Embraces the Casino Nova Scotia culture and philosophy and has a playful, infectious and "all about the guest" attitude!
One year of food and beverage serving experience in either a bar or restaurant setting is an asset
Strong sales and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
Energetic and a team player
WHMIS training an asset
Works quickly and efficiently under pressure in a busy, fast-paced environment
Communicates well with fellow team members
Must be able to commit to offering casino guests the highest level of guest service
Works well independently as well as in a team environment
Must be friendly, detailed oriented, fun and outgoing!
Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
Work Environment Considerations
Regular casino, restaurant or bar environment, standing and walking for long periods of time, some exposure to noise, odors, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, stretching, non-traditional work hours
