JOB PURPOSE
The role is responsible to assist in the safe, secure, and efficient operation of the Airside area by carrying out routine and detailed inspections of entire movement area (Runways, Taxiways, Apron and other operational Areas), monitoring all operational activities and supporting daily operations in compliance with DGCA and ICAO regulations and organizational procedures.
The role is essential for maintaining uninterrupted, safe and efficient airport operations at Airside, in compliance with regulatory standards during assigned shifts.
Conduct routine inspections of Runway, Taxiways, Apron and other operational areas on regular intervals and follow up for timey closure of observations.
Continuously monitor RT communication between ATC and aircraft Area of Responsibility (AOR) to ensure that instructions given to aircraft are correct, acknowledged, and followed properly.
Monitor, report and initiation of necessary preventive measures for any safety hazards within airside environment.
Support the safe coordination of aircraft movements on the apron.
Maintain overall operational safety on the ramp.
Monitor temporary obstacles/obstructions and escalate issues to the Apron Control (AM)/ODM.
Monitor hot works on the apron and facilitate their safe execution.
Ensure vegetation growth in the Airside is as per regulations.
Conduct external inspections of all Passenger Boarding Bridges and report any abnormalities to the AM/ODM.
Inspect areas after completion of works, high-power engine run-ups, etc., and report to the AM.
Inspect obstruction lights on all airside installations and report any unserviceability to the AM/ ODM.

Wildlife and Hazard Reporting
Observe and report bird/wildlife activity in accordance with wildlife Hazard Management program.
Assist WHM team for deterrence of wildlife activities at airport.
-WHM measures to achieve yearly target of 1.5 bird strikes per 10,000 ATMs.
Apron Safety and Coordination
Monitor apron activities to ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.
Observe traffic and raise violation.
Provide Follow Me services to Aircraft or other equipment/vehicles as per requirement.
Aid during fuel/oil spill situations and cordon off the area if required.
Monitor all works on the airside.

Facilitate all approved works on the airside.
Coordinate the takeover and handover of the maneuvering area during runway maintenance.
Facilitate VVIP/VIP movements.
Provide "Follow Me" services to Aircraft/vehicles/equipment
Facilitate RMS operations on the apron/maneuvering area.
Implement safeguarding procedures before initiating Low Visibility Procedures (LVP).
Enforce vehicular control measures during LVP operations.
Brief and supervise traffic marshals during LVP.

Support for Emergencies and Incidents
Respond to emergency situations as directed
Provide support for emergency preparedness exercise and drills.
Prompt response to incidents/accidents at airside.

Communication and Reporting
Maintain logs and complete daily inspections (RWY and Apron Area) checklist accurately.
Report any issue with AM or ODM promptly.
Maintain professional communication with ATC, AOCC, Apron Control or whenever situation arises with Aircraft.

Supervision of vendor manpower during shifts – approximately 50 staff
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate with relevant exposure to Airside Operations / ATC.
Must possess valid LMV driving license.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
General awareness of Aerodrome Design and Operations. Knowledge of Annex 14, DGCA CAR Section 4 Series B Part I, Doc 9157, Doc 9137 along with aviation and airport standards, policies and practices.
Ability to follow instructions and SOPs precisely.
Proficient in MS Office, Internet usage
More than 7 years’ experience in Aviation Industry
Effective communication and reporting skills.
Willing to work in outdoors in various weather conditions and on rotating shifts including nights, weekend and holidays.
