The Accounting Clerk supports the central finance team by managing cyclical accounts payable and receivable tasks. Responsibilities include processing vendor and sponsorship invoices, reconciling credit card statements, and handling finance-related communications.
Candidates need 1-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or AP/AR and proficiency with QuickBooks Online. Must be authorized to work in Canada and possess strong organizational and communication skills.
Purpose
As the Accounting Clerk, you will support our central finance team with cyclical Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and related bookkeeping tasks, providing additional administrative support as needed. You will bring your reliability, outstanding attention to detail, and experience with QuickBooks Online to add important capacity to our growing organization.
What You'll Do
- Review, code and process vendor invoices
- Prepare sponsorship invoices and process incoming funds
- Review employee expense claims for accuracy and policy compliance
- Prepare A/P batches for approval and release
- Monitor payment status and assist with issue resolution as needed
- Reconcile monthly corporate credit card statements
- Prepare grant, sponsorship, and partnership invoices and process receipts
- Flag inconsistencies or missing documentation to other finance team members
- Review incoming Finance email and Slack communications, responding to or escalating inquiries as needed
Who You Are
Organized and Accurate: You pay close attention to detail and ensure that financial data and administrative tasks are completed correctly and on time.
Tech-Savvy and Quick to Learn: You’re comfortable with bookkeeping and productivity software and can easily pick up new tools or processes.
Reliable and Collaborative: You work independently, communicate clearly, and enjoy being part of a supportive, remote team environment.
Essential Qualifications
1–3 years of bookkeeping, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or related experience
Proficiency with QuickBooks Online
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with Float Financial and/or Plooto is an asset
