Responsibilities

The Delivery Driver Assistant is responsible for delivering furniture to customers and picking up new donations while providing exceptional customer service. Duties include safe vehicle operation, loading and unloading trucks, and assisting in the thrift store when deliveries are not scheduled.

Requirements

Candidates must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and a high school diploma or equivalent. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

TREASURES & MORE RESALE STORE
DELIVERY DRIVER ASSISTANT
PAY: $15.45 to $16.50 per hour. (DOE)
STATUS: Full - Time
HOURS WORKED: REQUIRED THURSDAYS, FRIDAYS & SATURDAYS (absolutely no exceptions);
Other Days Vary, Monday - Wednesday, 9:00 A to 5:00 P
 
JOB SUMMARY: Delivery driver acts as a Treasures and More resale ambassador delivering furniture that has been bought at the store as well as picking up new donations. Delivery driver is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of goods to predetermined customers on specific routes, reviewing orders prior to delivery, loading and unloading trucks and providing exceptional customer service to our client base. Delivery driver will be a
representative of the store and need to conduct themselves in a professional manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Safe driving within the assigned delivery/pick up area.
  • Absolute observance of all traffic laws, regulations and requirements.
  • Demonstrates a great sense of direction and navigational skills including map reading.
  • Operates and participates effectively in an upbeat team environment.
  • Constantly adheres to schedule and is on time for shifts.
  • Responsible for the upkeep and security of the storage containers.
  • Maintains a high degree of pace and intensity for extended period of time.
  • Position requires driving, sitting, bending, reaching, stooping, climbing, walking, repetitive motions, cognitive skills, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs., standing and moving throughout the entire shift
  • Far and night vision required for driving.
  • Must adhere to Company dress code and appearance policy.
  • On occasion may perform light sweeping and mopping.
  • Will be required to help out in the actual thrift store if there aren’t any pick-ups or deliveries.
  • Represent ministry and thrift store to the public in a positive, professional and responsible manner.
  • Attend all staff meetings and training sessions, as requested.
  • Follow agency chain of command in a responsible and supportive manner. Be able to accept constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement.
  • Perform other appropriate tasks as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Be able to multi-task and handle busy phones and office while demonstrating a positive attitude to the public.
  • A proven ability to effectively function in a multi-faceted agency in a teamwork manner.
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer and corresponding programs; preferably experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Gmail and Google Calendar or similar web-based and computer programs.
  • Have personal attitude, conduct and standards representing those qualities and values reflected in the ministry that children can respect and emulate.
  • Be able to respect and work cooperatively with a variety of persons, including coworkers, members of the board, the public, and volunteers.
  • Able to work well with ever changing priorities and or situations. Have the ability to stay calm in tense situations and utilize common sense and logic.
  • Have valid driver license and provide a 5-year motor vehicle record (MVR) from Department of Motor Vehicle. Staff 21-25 years of age must have a 100% clean driving record. Over 25 years of age no major violations in the last 3 years.
  • At least a high school diploma or equivalency diploma.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Personally grow in leadership and spiritual life to exemplify the characteristics of a cultural champion.
  • Submit for a criminal history check.
  • Successfully pass FBI fingerprint clearance check and procure a Fingerprint Clearance Card 
  • Successful clearance of criminal background check(s), Central Registry in Arizona and any state(s) live
  • within 5 years of hire in accordance of Title 21
  • Reference checks of those listed on application.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
  • Submission to physical examination (including drug screening).
  • Human Resource package completed.
  • Obtain medical release/permission to fulfill all physical tasks should any health issue develop or emerge.
  • Valid Driver License in effect for at least 5 years. Driving record (MVR) from Department of Motor Vehicles can have only a maximum of two moving violations or at fault accidents in any combination in the past three years and no major moving violations within the past 3 years.*
* Driver’s age 22-25: MVR should reflect no moving violations, no accidents and no major violations.
  • Must pass mandatory drug screen and physical examination as required by appropriate licensing authority. GAP Ministries is a drug-free workplace and requires drug screening to all new employees, as well as random testing, to ensure enforcement of this policy.
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer and corresponding programs; preferably experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Gmail and Google Calendar or similar web-based and computer programs.
  • Be able to perform various physical tasks, including but not limited to the following:
    • Lifting of up to 50 lbs. for distances up to 25 feet
    • Lift and/or carry bags/boxes of house wares, and furniture with and without assistance.
    • Lift items up to 10 pounds to a height up to 6 feet and 11-25 pounds to a height of 3 feet.
    • Stand up to 3-7 hours per day with frequent walking, standing, bending, squatting, pulling and pushing.
    • Kneel, bend, stoop and lift freely and without risk of injury as needed.
  • Be physically fit to perform job duties outlined in Job Description. Obtain medical release/permission to fulfill all physical tasks should any health issue develop or emerge.
