Purpose

The ANOC Manager is responsible to lead and optimize the resources of Airport Network Operations Center (ANOC) with the aim to ensure the safe, efficient, and coordinated operation of all Fraport Greece’s regional airports. The role provides strategic oversight of pre-tactical and tactical operational activities, proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks, disruptions, and irregularities that are likely to impact airport performance, service continuity, or stakeholder operations. Acting as a central coordination point, the ANOC Manager ensures timely situational awareness and decision support to airport management, corporate leadership, and operational stakeholders.The position also develops the ANOC’s staff, ensuring effective monitoring, communication, escalation, and response processes across the airport network. Additionally, the role ensures the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of operational data within the Airport Operational Database (AODB), supports performance monitoring and reporting, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational resilience, efficiency, and network-wide coordination.

Key responsibilities:
  • Manage through close coordination network-wide operational disruptions, irregularities, and emergency situations across Fraport Greece’s airports, ensuring timely decision-making, effective escalation, and business continuity.
  • Serve as the primary operational liaison with national authorities, air navigation service providers, emergency response agencies, and other state operational centers, ensuring aligned responses and coordinated crisis management.
  • Direct airport activation, contingency, and recovery procedures, ensuring operational readiness and the effective implementation of emergency and business continuity plans.
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of operational data within the Airport Operational Database (AODB), supporting informed decision-making, performance monitoring, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee the strategic management and approval process of Prior Permission Requests (PPR) for General Aviation and Business Aviation (GABA) operations, ensuring alignment with airport capacity, operational constraints, and service standards.
  • Lead engagement within airport ecosystem e.g. with airlines, ground handling agents and other key stakeholders to proactively address operational challenges, optimize resource allocation and utilization, aiming to enhance network performance.
  • Provide executive-level operational situational awareness through timely briefings, reports, and strategic communications to senior management, supporting informed decision-making during routine and disrupted operations.
  • Monitor operational risks and emerging threats across the airport network, ensuring proactive mitigation measures, effective escalation, and continuous enhancement of operational resilience.
  • Develop and mentor ANOC personnel, fostering a high-performance culture focused on operational excellence, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive regularly the development and optimization of ANOC processes, procedures, and performance metrics, leveraging operational data and lessons learned to improve efficiency, service quality, and network resilience.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or proven experience in any Aviation-related discipline e.g. Airport Management, Airport Operations, Aeronautical Studies, Business Administration, Engineering etc. A relevant postgraduate qualification (Master’s degree or equivalent) will be considered a strong advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive professional experience within the aviation industry, including significant experience in airport operations, airline operations, network operations centers, or operational control environments, with demonstrated leadership and people management responsibilities.
  • Proven track record in leading operational teams within a complex and time-critical environment, with the ability to manage operational disruptions, emergencies, and business continuity challenges.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of airport operations, airside and landside processes, airline operational requirements, collaborative decision-making principles, and aviation industry best practices.
  • Strong understanding of Prior Permission Required (PPR) frameworks, General Aviation and Business Aviation (GABA) operations, airport slot and capacity management principles, and associated regulatory requirements.
  • Sound understanding of aviation regulations, safety management principles, operational risk management, and emergency response procedures applicable to airport and airline operations.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to assess complex operational situations, evaluate risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies under pressure.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with airlines, airports, government authorities and service providers.
  • Proficiency in operational and business software applications, including Airport Operational Database (AODB) systems, operational reporting tools, and project management applications. Experience with data analytics and performance monitoring tools will be considered an advantage.
  • Fluent in written and spoken Greek and English. Knowledge of additional languages, will be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in Airport Operations, Airline Dispatch, Network Operations Centers, or similar operational leadership roles will be considered highly desirable.

Fraport Greece’s innovative €440 million airport development program has significantly transformed these airports. In particular, Fraport Greece has delivered five brand new terminals, expanded and modernized five existing terminals, and upgraded four other terminals. Construction projects at airside operational areas of the regional airports included renovating 12 runways, improving ramp areas, and constructing and renovating 12 fire stations. All of the airports have also been equipped with new state-of-the-art baggage handling and security systems. The 14 Greek regional airports project is one of the largest and most beneficial investments and is a basis for boosting the Greek economy. Fraport Greece enhances the airports’ international competitiveness by the optimization of operational processes, the modernization and upgrade of the airports’ infrastructure and the continuous training of employees.
