DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - SYSTEM TEST (POWER ELECTRONICS)

As a Development Manager – System Test (Power Electronics), you will lead regional system-level verification aligned with ASPICE SYS.4 and SYS.5, driving validation through functional and environmental testing. You will define the test strategy, coordinate execution, and ensure robust validation from requirements to release.
Acting as a technical and organizational reference, you will guide test activities, ensure cross-functional alignment, and drive efficient, high-quality validation with a focus on“First-Time-Right” delivery.

YOUR TASKS

• Lead and manage the regional System Test organization for Power Electronics projects, covering the full development lifecycle (RFQ to SOP).
  
• Define and execute validation strategies aligned to ASPICE SYS.4 (System Integration Test) and SYS.5 (System Qualification Test).
  
• Oversee functional and environmental testing activities, ensuring proper test coverage and traceability to system requirements.
  
• Drive test concept definition, planning, and execution within regional labs and teams.
  
• Ensure compliance with ASPICE, IATF 16949, APQP/PPAP, and V-model processes.
  
• Act as the technical interface to customers (OEMs) for System Test topics at regional level.
  
• Collaborate closely with Systems, Hardware, Software, Quality, and Project Management teams.
  
• Lead, develop, and coach a team of test and validation engineers.
  
• Manage resource planning, priorities, and budget alignment for testing activities.
  
• Support industrialization and product release, ensuring strong validation maturity.
  
• Collaborate with production plants to define, align, and implement test instructions for manufacturing and end-of-line validation.
  
• Drive continuous improvement in test methodologies, automation, and lab processes.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field.
  
• 8+ years of experience in automotive electronics development, ideally in System Test, validation, or technical project leadership.
  
• Strong experience in System Verification & Validation, aligned with ASPICE SYS.4 / SYS.5.
  
• Solid understanding of functional test and environmental validation in automotive electronics.
  
• Proven experience managing complex development or validation projects.
  
• Experience working with OEM validation requirements (e.g., GM, Ford).
  
• Proven collaboration with global HELLA locations (e.g., HRO, HLT, HEC, HKG) in development or validation activities.
  
• Strong leadership skills with experience coordinating cross-functional teams.
  
• Knowledge of project management, cost awareness, and resource optimization.
  
• PMP certification is a plus.
  
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
