Der Mechatroniker ist eine Kombination aus den traditionellen Berufen Mechaniker und Elektriker. Da in vielen Industriebetrieben nicht nur mechanische sondern auch elektronische Bauteile enthalten, ist dieser Beruf ein Beruf mit Zukunft. Der Beruf erfordert vor allem technisches und handwerkliches Talent. Der Mechatroniker / Die Mechatronikerin betreut vorwiegend Fertigungsanlagen der Montage-, Dosier- und Fördertechnik. Auch die Planung, Herstellung, Montage, Installation und Inbetriebnahme von Anlagen gehört zu den typischen Aufgaben. Dabei werden Technologien wie Mechanik, Elektrik, Elektronik, Steuerungstechnik und Informatik angewandt.
