Position Responsibilities Include:
- Assist attorneys conducting witness interviews and preparing a record of the interviews for use at deposition.
- Review title commitments for accuracy and create deed history summaries.
- Prepare Declarations of Taking Reports, Amended Declarations of Taking (ADT) Reports, Complaints, Notices Joint Motions to Close, and Motions to Suppress, summarize depositions and other transcripts, maintain case files, and control exhibits and other materials at depositions and at trial for assigned cases.
- Document landowner complaints and responses in a monthly report.
- Support and assist attorneys in the courtroom by preparing exhibits, cross-references and screening documents for relevance and privilege according to established guidelines and criteria.
- Develop statistics and tabulations, such as standard deviations, regression analyses, and weighting, to provide leads and supportive data for case litigation.
- Prepare charts, graphs, and tables to illustrate results.
- Analyzes data, develops recommendations and justifications for the attorney(s) who will take the matter to court.
- Design and develop systems and procedures for tracking, controlling, and managing case files, exhibits, and other case-specific materials.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Two (2)-Year degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, Business/Business Administration/Finance, English/Journalism or related field, OR High School diploma/equivalent and Paralelgal Certificate.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience providing legal support, such as independently drafting correspondence, pleadings, motions, and proposed orders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software suite.
- Legal experience in real estate, mineral interests, and oil and gas matters.
