PROPANE SERVICE AND INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN

In this role, you will handle installations, maintenance, repairs, and inspections of propane systems for residential, commercial, and agricultural customers. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, customer-focused, and strongly committed to performing all work safely and always following best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid Texas Driver’s License with a clean driving record (CDL a plus).
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a responsible approach to the job.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., work outdoors in all weather conditions, climb ladders/tanks, use hand tools and equipment to perform manual labor, i.e. ditch digging, etc.
- Basic computer skills for service software and tablets w/willingness to learn new software.
- High school diploma or GED. Proficient in reading and writing.
- Strong attention to detail and customer service skills.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Random Drug Testing is performed.
Preferred Qualifications
- CDL License a plus
- Previous experience in propane service or a related field is often preferred, along with relevant certifications (e.g., CETP licenses).
Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair propane tanks, regulators, valves, piping, and related equipment using tools and machinery.
- Conduct leak checks, pressure tests, and thorough system inspections while following all required procedures and regulations, and document results.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with propane systems, equipment and appliances. Will light pilots as needed.
- Perform appliance conversions as applicable.
- Operate crane truck to move and set tanks
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain high standards of workmanship and compliance.
- Maintain accurate service records and communicate clearly with customers and the team.
- Deliver excellent customer service by educating customers on the safe use of propane.
- Strictly follow NFPA, DOT, Texas Railroad Commission (RRC), and all company policies and procedures.
- Obtain Railroad Commission (RRC) LPG Certification for Service and Installation.
- Keep company vehicles, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and in excellent working condition.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
