Database Administrator (Database Team, Cybersecurity & Infrastructure) 

 

The Database Team is responsible for managing and optimizing the organization's database ecosystem, ensuring high availability, performance, security and reliability for business-critical applications across Engineering and Data & AI divisions. The team works closely with software development, DevOps and infrastructure teams to support production platforms and drive continuous improvement of database services.

What you’ll have to do:

• Lead the installation, configuration, monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting of SQL and NoSQL database platforms, including MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Design, implement and maintain highly available and scalable database solutions that support business and technical requirements.
• Monitor database performance and proactively identify optimization opportunities.
• Administer database servers and optimize operating systems for database workloads.
• Define, implement and improve backup, recovery and disaster recovery strategies.
• Manage database patching and upgrade processes while ensuring service continuity.
• Deploy and maintain physical servers and containerized environments supporting database services.
• Develop and maintain automation and configuration management solutions.
• Collaborate closely with software development, DevOps and infrastructure teams across multiple business units.
• Drive database architecture planning and technical decision-making.
• Mentor junior database administrators and share best practices across the team.
• Develop and maintain internal procedures, operational documentation and best practices.
• Respect internal procedures related to the usage of company tools and equipment.

What makes you a good fit:

• Higher education degree, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science or Cybernetics.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong Linux systems administration knowledge.
• Extensive hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Proven experience installing, configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting complex database environments.
• Deep understanding of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
• Solid experience with backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes.
• Knowledge of source control systems such as Git.
• Basic networking knowledge and experience with network protocols.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience mentoring or leading database initiatives.
• Relevant certifications such as RHEL (Red Hat Certified Engineer/Administrator) or CompTIA.
