The Project Engineer manages on-site activities, coordinates with contractors, and ensures construction projects meet technical specifications and quality standards. They are also responsible for maintaining project documentation, enforcing safety regulations, and reporting progress to stakeholders.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and possess at least 2 years of experience in site-based roles. Proficiency in Malaysian construction regulations and experience with large-scale or high-rise projects are required.
Role Summary:
The Project Engineer supports the planning and execution of construction projects, ensuring technical requirements are met and facilitating smooth coordination among teams. This role plays a vital part in maintaining project timelines, quality standards, and compliance with safety regulations.
Ensures technical precision in project execution, reducing construction errors and delays.
Facilitates effective communication with contractors and internal teams for smooth coordination.
Supports adherence to project timelines through proactive planning and technical input.
Contributes to the overall efficiency and quality of the company’s construction projects.
1. Technical Support
Review and interpret project drawings and specifications.
Provide technical guidance to on-site teams to ensure compliance with plans.
2. Site Coordination
Assist in coordinating daily on-site activities with contractors and suppliers.
Monitor progress and report deviations from the project plan.
3. Quality Assurance
Conduct inspections to verify that construction work aligns with technical requirements.
Ensure corrective actions are taken for identified defects.
4. Documentation
Maintain accurate records of project progress, technical details, and site activities.
Prepare reports for senior management and stakeholders as required.
5. Health & Safety Compliance
Enforce adherence to safety regulations on-site.
Participate in safety audits and implement recommendations.
1. Technical Proficiency
Strong understanding of engineering principles and construction methods.
2. Attention to Detail
Ability to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy in execution.
3. Team Coordination
Skilled at facilitating collaboration among site teams and contractors.
4. Problem-Solving
Effective in resolving on-site technical challenges.
5. Safety Awareness
Commitment to maintaining high safety standards on-site.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
Knowledge of Malaysian construction regulations and standards.
Minimum of 2 years in a site-based or engineering consultant-based role.
Experience in infrastructure, high-rise or large-scale development projects.
High rise project experience preferred.
