The Lead will drive business growth and strategic positioning for governance and EU accession opportunities while managing operational delivery and team performance. They are responsible for building partnerships, overseeing proposal development, and ensuring high-quality project outcomes across the portfolio.
Candidates must have at least 15 years of professional experience, including significant work with the EU and other donors on business development and strategic positioning. A Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Public Finance, or International Development is required, along with a strong professional network in EU institutions.
The Lead focused on Governance and EU Accession opportunities provides strategic leadership to expand DAI's portfolio in these sectors. The role is responsible for developing and pursuing a pipeline of governance and EU accession opportunities, expanding DAI's network of partners and consultants, strengthening DAI's market position, and raising DAI's profile with key clients and stakeholders. The Lead will drive early pre-positioning and business growth efforts, foster strategic relationships, and contribute to the development of innovative and competitive solutions.
Alongside business development responsibilities, the role provides operational leadership across priority opportunities, ensuring high-quality outputs, effective resource management, financial sustainability, and achievement of organisational objectives. The Lead will work closely with bid, technical and implementation teams to support successful project delivery and contribute to DAI's continued growth and performance.
This is a full-time permanent position. This position requires the ability to work remotely in Spain without sponsorship. Barcelona is the preferred location but other locations in Spain will be considered.
