Develop and implement physical education and health curricula to promote fitness, hygiene, and social-emotional adjustment for 6th-grade students. Collaborate with staff to individualize instruction and maintain a safe, productive learning environment aligned with state standards.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education and a valid Missouri teaching certificate in Physical Education. Experience in urban education and a commitment to the school's core values are highly desired.

Position Summary:
The primary responsibilities are to develop in each student an understanding of the relationship of good body function and exercise; to motivate each student to cultivate physical fitness, hygienic habits, and good social and emotional adjustment; to discover and develop talents of students in physical achievement; to develop strength, skill, agility, poise, and coordination in individual, dual, and team physical activities and sports. The teacher collaborates with staff to co-plan, co-deliver, and individualize instruction for all students in a class; work together creatively to accommodate special needs, diversity and educational backgrounds of the students; and overcome instructional challenges constructively. The teacher is a hardworking, goal-oriented and enthusiastic professional with excellent subject knowledge and a sound understanding of the Missouri Learning Standards and Common Core State Standards.
