Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and detail oriented Porter to help maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our apartment communities.

In this role, you will play an important part in creating a welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This includes daily cleaning tasks, restocking supplies and ensuring a safe, clean and welcoming environment for all residents, employees and visitors.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly Rate: $20.00 – $23.00

Essential Position Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of lobbies, hallways, restrooms, elevators, stairwells, and other common areas
• Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and sanitation products
• Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper waste disposal
• Monitor and report maintenance issues (e.g., leaks, hazards, damaged fixtures)
• Respond promptly to cleaning needs, spills, and day-to-day requests
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors according to established schedules
• Clean windows, glass doors, and surfaces to maintain a polished appearance
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and communicate needs to supervisor
• Follow all safety procedures and properly use cleaning equipment and chemicals
• Work collaboratively with team members and provide friendly, responsive service
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• 0–1 year of experience in janitorial, custodial, or porter work preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position does not include supervisory responsibilities

Physical Requirements

• Ability to crouch, climb, reach, and lift heavy items
• Ability to walk properties daily and work outdoors in varying conditions
• Ability to sit and use basic office equipment as needed
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Work Environment

• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors across property locations
• Regular exposure to outdoor elements and physical activity throughout the day

Travel Requirements

• Must have use of a vehicle to regularly travel to Community Corp. properties, hardware stores, and supply stores within the service area
• Valid California driver’s license and required insurance
• Must maintain a satisfactory driving record and consent to DMV pull report
