Community Based Support Worker – Central Otago | Te Rohe o Manuherikia

Cromwell | Tīrau • Alexandra | Manuherekia • Wānaka

Permanent 60 hours per fortnight | Predominantly daytime hours | Small supportive team

About the role | He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga

Are you looking for meaningful work that fits around your life while making a genuine difference in your community?

Community Care Trust Aotearoa is seeking a compassionate and motivated person to join our Central Otago team, supporting people across Cromwell | Tīrau, Alexandra | Manuherekia and Wānaka.

This permanent role offers 60 hours per fortnight, predominantly worked during daytime hours, providing a great work-life balance while supporting people to achieve their goals and live great lives.

You'll become part of a close-knit team that values collaboration, flexibility, humour and supporting one another. While you'll spend much of your day working independently, you'll always have the backing of experienced colleagues who are committed to helping each other succeed.

No two days are the same. You'll support people in their homes and communities, building positive relationships and helping them develop independence, confidence and community connections.

Key responsibilities | Ngā kawenga matua

  • Building positive relationships and rapport with the people we support

  • Working alongside individuals to achieve their goals and aspirations

  • Supporting people to access their local communities and strengthen their support networks

  • Encouraging independence, confidence and community participation

  • Completing competency-based training to develop skills and qualifications

  • Working regular rostered shifts, including some weekends

  • Completing administration tasks related to support delivery

What you'll bring | Ngā pūkenga mō tēnei tūranga

  • A full current New Zealand Driver Licence (essential)

  • A current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to complete one at our cost)

  • Legal eligibility to work in New Zealand

  • A valid work visa with at least 12 months remaining until expiry

  • A positive attitude and genuine desire to support others

  • Strong communication skills, reliability and initiative
