Position Purpose

The Campus Life Ministry Site Leader advances the mission and vision of Central Ohio Youth for Christ by serving as the lead mobilizer and champion of holistic youth ministry within an assigned geographic area of Central Ohio.

This role is responsible for cultivating relationships with young people, mobilizing adult ministry leaders, developing collaborative community partnerships, growing ministry teams, and creating an environment where students can encounter Jesus Christ, grow as disciples, and become leaders who influence their schools and communities.

The Campus Life Ministry Site Leader leads with a commitment to relational youth ministry, spiritual formation, leadership development, collaboration, and faithful stewardship, ensuring that the ministry site grows and operates according to Youth for Christ Best Practices.

Key Objectives

The Campus Life Ministry Site Leader will:

• Mobilize adult ministry leaders from the community to serve, give, and pray.
• Build collaborative partnerships that maximize the ministry's impact on young people and their families.
• Lead the ministry site toward sustainable growth and replication according to YFC Best Practices.
• Recruit, equip, manage, and develop volunteer ministry teams.
• Provide effective administrative and spiritual leadership for the ministry site.
• Champion a culture of discipleship in which students and adult leaders are encouraged to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Essential Responsibilities

Mobilize Adult Ministry Leaders

• Build and maintain networks of like-minded adults throughout the ministry area.
• Recruit and mobilize adult ministry leaders to meet ministry, financial, leadership, and prayer needs.
• Develop and maintain effective prayer communication and/or lead a regular prayer gathering for the ministry site.
• Participate in and lead assigned See the Story & Be the Story teams in partnership with the Development Team.
• Identify student leaders who have the capacity and desire to share their testimonies and help provide opportunities for them to do so.
• Foster a culture in which adults understand their role in reaching, discipling, and developing young people.
• Serve as an excellent team player within the broader COYFC ministry.

Build Collaborative Partnerships

• Identify potential partners within both the faith community and secular community who can help address the holistic needs of youth.
• Develop, strengthen, and maintain partnerships with clear objectives, expectations, and accountability.
• Collaborate with churches, community organizations, schools, families, and other appropriate partners to expand ministry impact.
• Ensure that sharing the Gospel and making disciples remain central to the mission and activities of the ministry site.
• Look for opportunities to connect youth and families with resources that support their spiritual, relational, emotional, and practical needs.

Lead the Ministry Site to Grow and Replicate

• Lead the ministry site toward established COYFC growth objectives, including a minimum outreach club attendance of 50 students, 150 unique students engaged through the ministry site, 10 adult ministry leaders, and at least one paid staff member.
• Participate weekly in direct ministry with students through club, small groups, discipleship, mentoring, or other relational ministry opportunities.
• Lead and facilitate large- and small-group meetings that provide high-quality, relevant, engaging, and age-appropriate content.
• Work alongside leaders of new ministry site start-ups and help ensure adult ministry leaders are equipped to effectively lead ministry meetings.
• Provide leadership for and encourage student participation in summer camping opportunities.
• Participate in and help lead high-quality area-wide meetings and events, using these experiences as opportunities to train and develop young leaders.
• Champion the Young Leader Program as a key component of the ministry's discipleship strategy.
• Oversee mentor/mentee relationships and discipleship relationships connected to the ministry site.
• Ensure consistent opportunities for relationship-building among students, adult ministry leaders, and staff.
• Lead the ministry site toward collaborative ministry goals and sustainable growth.
• Help cultivate a ministry culture that can be replicated in additional communities and campuses.

Manage and Lead Ministry Teams

• Coach, encourage, and develop ministry staff within the assigned geographic area on a regular basis.
• Lead and/or participate in weekly local staff and prayer meetings.
• Ensure ministry leaders and student leaders are aware of available training opportunities and actively participate in appropriate training.
• Build a culture that values continual learning, leadership development, and ministry excellence.
• Oversee and lead ministry trips and work collaboratively with the Ministry Director.
• Utilize COYFC ministry data to evaluate effectiveness, identify opportunities, and facilitate ministry growth.
• Partner with YFC to develop a 3–5 year ministry growth plan and conduct a community assessment to inform the area's youth ministry strategy.
• Practice faithful and responsible stewardship of ministry resources in alignment with COYFC's strategic objectives.
• Encourage and equip volunteers to serve with excellence, humility, consistency, and a Christ-centered perspective.

Administrative Leadership Responsibilities

• Ensure ministry data is accurately collected and submitted to COYFC in a timely manner.
• Ensure all volunteers complete required training, screening, and compliance requirements.
• Participate in COYFC All-Staff meetings each quarter.
• Participate in YFC training opportunities for initial onboarding and ongoing professional and ministry development.
• Meet regularly with the YFC Ministry Director and Global Village for collaborative ministry oversight and strategic alignment.
• Maintain appropriate communication, documentation, scheduling, and administrative practices necessary for effective ministry leadership.

Spiritual Responsibilities

Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families and to make, educate, and encourage lifelong disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Campus Life Ministry Site Leader serves as an associate minister of the Gospel.

As an employee of Youth for Christ and a minister of the Gospel, COYFC expects this individual to:

• Seek God's guidance and wisdom through prayer, Scripture, and personal spiritual reflection for the organization and for specific ministry initiatives.
• Participate in and lead regular times of prayer, devotion, worship, and spiritual formation as an integral part of the role.
• Regularly and appropriately share the Gospel message with students and families who come into contact with COYFC ministries.
• Model a growing and authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Champion discipleship and spiritual growth among students, volunteers, staff, and ministry leaders.
• Demonstrate integrity, humility, servant leadership, and a commitment to the mission and values of Youth for Christ.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith and the mission and ministry of Youth for Christ.
• Ability and willingness to serve as an associate minister of the Gospel within the context of COYFC.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of prior ministry experience, with youth ministry experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to commit to the role for a minimum of 2–3 years.
• Demonstrated ability to build authentic relationships with young people and adults.
• Proven ability to recruit, equip, coach, and develop volunteers and ministry leaders.
• Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, churches, schools, community partners, students, and families.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining excellence in ministry and administration.
• Willingness to participate in ministry activities that may occur during evenings, weekends, summer camps, retreats, and other special events.
• Commitment to the spiritual, relational, emotional, and practical well-being of young people.

A successful Campus Life Ministry Site Leader is a relational ministry leader, mobilizer, disciple-maker, and community connector who equips others to reach young people with the hope of Jesus Christ.

Success is demonstrated through:

• Students being reached, discipled, and developed as leaders.
• Adult ministry leaders being recruited, equipped, encouraged, and retained.
• Strong partnerships being established throughout the community.
• A growing and healthy ministry site that reflects YFC Best Practices.
• Students actively participating in discipleship, leadership development, and ministry opportunities.
• A culture of prayer, collaboration, spiritual growth, and multiplication.
• Ministry leaders who are equipped to reproduce ministry in new locations and communities.
• The Gospel remaining central to all ministry efforts.

The Campus Life Ministry Site Leader is not simply managing a ministry site—they are mobilizing people, developing leaders, building community, and creating pathways for young people to encounter Jesus and become lifelong disciples.
