Develop and execute site-specific occupational health and safety programs while auditing the workplace to eliminate hazards. Responsible for delivering safety training, investigating accidents, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and company policies.
Requires 5 years of continuous safety experience in general industry, construction, or O&M, and completion of the OSHA 30-hour General Industry course. An associate degree in Safety Management and CSEM certification are preferred.
Execute a Corporate worksite Health & Safety program at assigned facility and develop and administer site-specific Health & Safety programs, consistent with established Company policies and in accordance with applicable regulations and standards. Train workforce on safety procedures and requirements. Ensure all elements of contract safety requirements are being followed and adopted. Reports to Site Level Contract Maintenance Manager.
Education, Experience, Certification:
Preferred: Associate Degree in Safety Management or a related field
Required: 5 years of continuous safety experience in supervising or managing general industry/construction/O&M, including managing safety programs or processes or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls.
For five years, has maintained competencies through 8-hours of formal safety and health related training per year.
Required: Certification of
Completion of OSHA 30-hour General Industry course Certified Safety, Environmental and Emergency Manager (CSEM) preferred within 8 months of reporting on site the SSO will attend the following classes provided by the American Society of Hospital Engineers: NFPA 101 for healthcare (3-day course), NFPA 99 (3-day course), and ASHE Healthcare Construction Certificate (2-day course). The contractor will provide to the COR a copy of the certificate of completion for each of these courses.
