The Flight Dispatcher (Licensed) reports to the Senior Manager, Systems Operations Control (S.O.C) and prepares flight plans, crew briefings, monitors
all flights under control and
files all prescribed documents.
Summary of key responsibilities:
§ Consulting and collaborating with all departments on flight activities
§ Monitoring
of flights,
delaying, re-routing, consolidating or cancelling and substituting
equipment on flights
§ Flight preparation and Crew Briefings (including filing of ATC Flight Plans)
§ Weather forecasting,
route analysis, calculation of fuel and payload capabilities
§ Record keeping, flight logs and
associated manuals
§ Developing and
publishing Aircraft Routings
§ Providing Operations Control
and Flight Watch for other airlines as directed
Requirements
Qualifications, skills and experience:
Essential
§ High School
Graduate with O’
Level or the equivalent in English, Mathematics and
Geography
§ Must possess a current FAA Dispatcher License
§ Aviation, 1-3 basic position related
knowledge
§ Computer literate with
excellent numeracy skills
§ Must be able to work well under pressure both independently and
as a team
§ Demonstrate good customer service
internally and externally
§ Able to remain calm and focused under pressure and in emergencies situations
§ Excellent communication skills orally and in writing
§ Must be prepared to be notified at the last minute of irregularities in reporting for
duty
§ Able to work on a roster basis including weekends, early mornings, late nights and public
holidays
Desirable
§ Knowledge of security, customs and immigration regulations
