The design team lead will oversee the lifecycle of cast drivetrain components, providing technical leadership and mentorship to a team of 2-3 engineers. Responsibilities include creating new designs, managing risk through FMEAs, and coordinating with suppliers and assembly facilities to ensure production quality.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, mechatronics, or aerospace engineering and possess an advanced level of English. Expert proficiency in Creo modeling, hydraulic system design, and knowledge of casting processes and quality methodologies like APQP and PPAP are required.

The Caterpillar’s Drivetrain team in Mexico designs drivetrain components used across Caterpillar machines and OEM applications. We are looking for a design team lead for parts made from castings: primarily cast iron and cast steel, including hydraulic pumps and valves bodies, brake calipers, and other miscellaneous cast components. This position will provide design leadership through the entire lifecycle of the part, from concept to production implementation to production maintenance and supporting our end customers.
