The Metallurgist is responsible for optimizing metallurgical processes across concentrator operations by providing technical analysis and recommendations to improve plant performance and recovery. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of experience in mineral processing or concentrator operations is required, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Pinto Valley is an open-pit copper mine located at the west end of the historic Globe-Miami mining district of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in 2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Metallurgist is responsible for supporting and optimizing metallurgical processes across concentrator operations by providing timely, accurate technical analysis and recommendations that improve plant performance, metal recoveries, and operational efficiency. This role works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Mine Engineering, Laboratory, Process Control, and Technical Services to monitor key performance indicators, evaluate metallurgical performance, coordinate test work, troubleshoot processing issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
The Metallurgist applies technical expertise in crushing, grinding, flotation, filtration, and dewatering while ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective production. The role also supports laboratory operations, pilot plant testing, metallurgical accounting, and special projects that contribute to operational excellence.
