Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular Full Time (Float) Laboratory Assistant - Distribution to join our dynamic Supply Chain Operations West team.
In this role you will be responsible for para technical functions of the Laboratory and may be assigned any of the duties and responsibilities listed below. Depending on the size of the Centre, complete rotation of duties may not be practical. You will adhere to all current operating procedure, practices good judgment in the performance of job responsibilities and promote Centre objectives through good interpersonal skills.
This is a float position. When not floating to cover other shifts, this position will have a fixed schedule from Monday to Friday from 0700-1500 with rest days on Saturday and Sunday.
The incumbent will float 1 to other positions to cover vacation/sick if required. They may work days, evenings, nights and weekends including statutory holidays. The majority of float shifts will be scheduled during the day, but some weekends or nights may sometimes be required. Two consecutive rest days will be scheduled in every 7 or 8 day period.
