Position Summary

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for overseeing quality assurance and quality control activities within a manufacturing environment while supporting environmental compliance programs and sustainability initiatives. This position ensures products meet customer specifications and company quality standards while maintaining compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations. The Quality Supervisor partners with production, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to drive continuous improvement in product quality, operational efficiency, and environmental performance.

Essential Functions

• Supervise daily quality assurance and quality control activities throughout manufacturing operations.
 • Monitor production processes and finished products to ensure compliance with customer specifications and company standards.
 • Ensure compliance with applicable quality management systems, environmental regulations, and company policies and procedures.
 • Lead investigations into product defects, process deviations, customer complaints, and environmental incidents, including implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
 • Conduct internal audits, inspections, and compliance reviews to verify adherence to quality and environmental requirements.
 • Manage nonconforming materials and products, including documentation, disposition, and corrective actions.
 • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve process capability, reduce waste, minimize scrap, and improve operational efficiency.
 • Support environmental compliance activities including emissions monitoring, waste management, permit compliance, and regulatory reporting.
 • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of materials in accordance with environmental and safety requirements.
 • Maintain quality records, environmental documentation, permits, certifications, and audit records.
 • Train employees on quality standards, inspection techniques, environmental compliance requirements, and continuous improvement methodologies.
 • Develop, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality, productivity, scrap reduction, environmental performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
 • Support sustainability initiatives, including recycling efforts, waste reduction programs, energy conservation efforts, and process improvements.
 • Serve as a company representative during customer audits, regulatory inspections, and external certification audits.
 • Supervise and develop quality personnel as assigned.
 • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• Associate degree in a technical, engineering, environmental, quality, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
 • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
 • Working knowledge of quality systems, auditing practices, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
 • Familiarity with applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
 • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
 • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data analysis tools.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
 • Experience in metals manufacturing, copper processing, wire and cable manufacturing, or other heavy industrial operations.
 • Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
 • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and other continuous improvement tools.
 • Experience supporting environmental compliance programs, including air permits, wastewater management, and hazardous waste programs.

Preferred Certifications

• Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
 • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
 • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
 • Environmental certifications such as Certified Environmental Professional (CEP), Registered Environmental Manager (REM), or equivalent

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

 • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as designated by company policy.
 • May be required to work extended hours, weekends, or respond to operational issues outside of normal business hours.
