Overview
BRT Extrusions, located in Niles, OH, is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our expanding
Maintenance Department. The job duties of this position include, but are not limited to, aluminum
hydraulic extrusions, maintaining 5 extrusion presses, preventative maintenance process and
scheduling, scheduled downtime repair prep planning. The Maintenance Supervisor will work a shift and
supervise a group of maintenance technicians to ensure production and quality by keeping our
machinery and equipment in working condition.

Essential duties of the Maintenance Supervisor (Lead Technician):
Coordinate maintenance and repair activities of the technicians on the shift
Specifically train with the new technicians to ensure skill evaluation and continued improvement.
Make repairs as needed, showing others how to as well and train them to work autonomously
Train less experienced techs in the following areas: Aluminum hydraulic extrusions, maintaining/running presses, preventative maintenance process and scheduling, scheduled downtime repair preparations
and planning, ensuring knowledge of all machines by all techs
Recommend modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions or to improve safety, quality, or equipment operating parameters
Perform repairs and troubleshoot on machinery and repair of electrical systems up to 480v, 3 phase
Assist in diagnosing malfunctions in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment
Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew
Interpret company policies to workers and enforce OSHA and company safety regulations with employees
Conduct safety training for crew on shift as needed and ensure compliance with all company policies, plant rules and regulations
Requirements for the Maintenance Supervisor (Lead Technician):
At least 1 year manufacturing/maintenance supervisory experience is required
2 years’ experience in maintenance manufacturing setting
Must be willing to work 12 hour shifts with varying schedule (example: 2 days on and 2 off etc)
Training and experience in use of PLC's is a plus
Welding and fabrication skills are a plus
Read and interpret electrical drawings is a plus
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills is a must
Be able to Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers
Analyze and resolve work problems and assists workers in solving problems
Must be willing to participate in all required job and or employment related trainings. This includes but is not limited to all safety and technical or role or tool specific trainings.
Physical requirements for the Maintenance Supervisor (Lead Technician):
This position requires the individual to work in a factory/manufacturing environment. The temperatures
can fluctuate from hot to cold and noise level is high. An individual in this role will be able to walk,
bend, stoop, twist, turn and climb frequently. With proper safety equipment, an individual in this role
may work above ground level (off the ground) for long periods of time. An individual in this role will
need to be aware of movement and/or noises around them at all times. An individual in this role must
move 50lbs frequently and up to 75lbs occasionally. An individual in this role will be an effective
communicator verbally and in writing, and this role requires individuals to read and follow written
procedures in English.
Education
HS Diploma/GED required
Maintenance training & education preferred
