Applicants must have lived experience with mental health or addiction challenges and possess at least a high school diploma or GED. A valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and the ability to pass a criminal background check are mandatory.
The Mental Health Peer Support Specialist performs specialized education and support services for individuals with mental illness. This position involves the modeling of recovery skills through assisting individuals with the development of coping skills, advocacy skills, and resource awareness. This position requires flexibility with hours: 2-3 days per week ranging from 8-15 hours per week depending on the needs of the caseload. Scheduled work hours most typically fall between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
