NPL now has a vacancy for a qualified and experienced individual to join our Supply and Business Services Department for a Fixed-Term (4 months) role as Officer – Travel – Business Services

About the role

Reporting to the Supervisor - Travel, the incumbent will be required to attend to all NPL commuter travel inquiries efficiently and courteously by delivering an ongoing level of customer service that will meet or exceed expectations in all dealings with internal and external customers.

In this role, you will:

•    Deal with all NPL commuter travel inquiries efficiently and courteously
•    Fully conversant with day-to-day administrative duties with advanced computer skills
•    Undertake order duties as delegated/directed by the Travel Supervisor
•    Deliver an ongoing level of customer service that will meet or exceed expectations in all dealings with internal and external customers
•    Use airline reservation system for the purchase of commercial tickets
•    Book and manifest passengers on Charter flights using the INX Inflight system
•    Constantly monitor costs, expenditures and seek efficiency opportunities that will make a contribution to operating cost reductions
•    Work in a manner that will not endanger self or any other person
•    Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness and comply with NPL Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all health and safety rules and procedures

About You

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experiences:

•    Minimum of grade 12 level
•    Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in the Airline Industry 
•    Attained fares and ticketing 1 and 2 training and certification
•    Hands on experience, knowledge and usage of INX Inflight system 
•    Good & Clear Communication (English) oral & written, and ability to communicate with staff at all levels
•    Computer competent with MS Word, MS Excel
•    Ability to work unsupervised and under pressure and to work as part of a team and foster team building
•    Ability to train and pass on knowledge
•    Work with attention to detail
•    Work safely and not create or ignore hazards
•    Keen to learn and asks for help

Mobilization Requirement

•    All applicants must have an up-to-date police clearance certificate, obtained within the last 6 months
•    Ability to successfully pass a pre - employment medical and drug and alcohol test
•    Be a Local Porgeran (Cat 1 or Cat 2) candidate and be available to start immediately 
•    The roster is 10 days on and 4 days off
