Position Summary

The Bald Head Island Club is seeking a reliable, safety-focused Tram Driver to join our team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring employees are transported safely and efficiently between the ferry terminal and club facilities. The Tram Driver is responsible for operating transportation vehicles, maintaining club carts, and providing exceptional customer service while representing the Club in a professional manner. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport employees and guests between designated locations.
  • Follow ferry and transportation schedules to ensure timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
  • Operate trams, passenger trailers, golf carts, and other transportation equipment in a safe manner.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness and appearance of all transportation vehicles.
  • Charge, clean, and assist with the upkeep of Club golf carts.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service to members, guests, and employees.
  • Assist with luggage, supplies, and special transportation requests as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and Club policies.
  • Support other departments with transportation-related needs during special events and busy periods.
  • Work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
  • Previous driving, transportation, shuttle, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles while pulling passenger trailers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and motor vehicle record review.
  • Strong attention to safety and detail.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Ability to operate vehicles for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
