About Babyzone At Babyzone, we believe that every child deserves a fair start in life, regardless of their background or circumstances. Our mission is to empower families and their children, from conception to age five, by providing access to high-quality early years learning opportunities that nurture the parent-child bond. The need for support in early childhood development has never been more critical. Babyzone is a charity funded by foundations, philanthropists and trusts, including global venture builder Blenheim Chalcot. We serve families who struggle to access support elsewhere - due to financial, geographic, or cultural barriers - by offering free, evidence-based classes and resources in premium, fully accessible community hubs. With eight Babyzone Hubs already open across the UK, a ninth and tenth in Swansea and Glasgow due to open shortly and ambitious plans for growth, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of our eleventh Babyzone in Preston.
Why This Role is Perfect for You Are you passionate about early childhood development and experienced in teaching, early years, or family engagement? Are you seeking a rewarding, part-time role where you can make a tangible difference in your community? This opportunity is particularly suited for individuals who may have taken a career break, recently transitioned from a classroom setting or are looking for flexible work that complements their family life. It offers a unique chance to leverage your early years expertise within a dynamic and supportive environment.
The Opportunity As Head of Babyzone Preston, you will lead the launch and daily operations of this brand-new Babyzone Hub, helping to transform the lives of hundreds of families in the area. You will: · Set up and lead a small local team · Facilitate the delivery of high-quality early years classes and family engagement activities · Build relationships with families, local stakeholders, and funders · Ensure the Babyzone offering is safe, consistent and impactful · Collaborate with Babyzone Heads across the UK and the central team · Connect families to Babyzone's digital resources including Baby Buddy app and WhatsApp communities · This is a leadership role with hands-on delivery elements, perfect for someone passionate about early years and community engagement
What You’ll Need We’re looking for someone who: · Has a passion for early years development and Babyzone’s mission · Is an excellent people-person, with empathy and energy · Has experience working with families and young children · Can manage a small team and juggle a variety of tasks · Is based in or near Preston · Ideally, has a background in teaching or early childhood development · Comfortable working with partners from health, social care, and voluntary sectors · Enjoys part-time, flexible working that fits around other life commitments
KPIs: · Build attendance to 100+ family visits per delivery day within the first year · Build and maintain partnerships with 20+ local organisations including NHS teams, local authority and family support charities
Role Details · Salary: Depending on experience · Contract: Part-time, permanent, term-time only · Hours: 2 days per week. This includes 1 delivery day (the day of the week is to be confirmed) and 1 admin day · Location: Babyzone Preston based at Vault Youth Zone, Tithebarn Street, Preston, PR1 1DN + quarterly travel to the London office (with potential for overnight) or partner Babyzone Hubs · Start Date: July 2026
Benefits: · 33 days annual leave including bank holidays (pro-rated) · Flexible working pattern to suit your lifestyle · Matched pension contributions (if eligible) · A supportive and inclusive working culture · Be part of a national network making a real difference

At Babyzone, we believe that getting the early years right transforms lives, families, and society.
We provide holistic, joined-up support for families with children under five, offering free, welcoming spaces where parents and children can play, learn and connect. Our local Babyzone hubs act as “one-stop shops” for health, early learning, parenting, and employment support, helping families build confidence, wellbeing, and brighter futures.
At the heart of our approach is the Babyzone Flywheel, a self-reinforcing model that connects everything we do. High-quality hubs serve as living labs where families and partners test and refine evidence-based programmes like Everyday Maths and NEST. These insights are shared through our digital and open-access resources and amplified through the Babyzone Academy, which powers practitioner learning across the early years sector. The result is a continuous cycle where practice becomes knowledge, knowledge builds confidence, and confidence drives change for parents, practitioners, and policy alike.
We’re growing a national network of high-quality hubs across England, currently in Barking & Dagenham, Barnet, Blackburn, Croydon, Grimsby, Hammersmith & Fulham, Swansea Warrington, and Wigan, with Glasgow coming soon, alongside a thriving digital community reaching over a million parents and practitioners each year.
