About the role:
As a Reach Stacker Operator (Terminal Operator), you will play a key role in coordinating, planning, and executing the loading and unloading of trains within terminals and sidings. This includes ensuring compliance with safe-working and operational procedures, managing freight and operational documentation, and prioritising the health, safety, and wellbeing of yourself and your colleagues.
Key responsibilities:
Operate forklifts and reach stackers to move containers and load/unload trains as required.
Use terminal equipment such as scissor lifts and boom lifts.
Forward-plan terminal service requirements for scheduled trains, including conducting basic marshalling activities.
Conduct train and equipment inspections and ensure all road and rail transit documentation is complete and accurate.
Update the Transport Management System and manage the processing of customer trucks at the gate.
Induct customers and contractors entering the terminal.
Collaborate effectively in a team environment, sharing ideas to improve resource planning and operational efficiency.
About you:
Forklift and Reach Stacker licences/experience preferred (training provided for the right applicant).
Proactive with a willingness to learn about Aurizon’s operations.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
High attention to detail, particularly when handling safety and quality documentation.
Ability to meet the required rail medical standard and pass a driver history check (mandatory).
