About AstraZeneca :
AstraZeneca is a global, science-led, patient-focused biopharmaceutical company that concentrates on the discovery, development and commercialization of prescription medicines addressing some of the planet’s most serious diseases. But we’re more than one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies.
Introduction to role:
Ready to turn scientific innovation into real-world access for patients across your territory? As a Territory Business Manager, you will influence prescribing decisions, unlock adoption of new therapies, and grow share for medicines that change lives. You will work within a connected commercial ecosystem that partners with medical, access and digital teams to deliver practical solutions for clinicians and health systems.
Can you see yourself leading your territory like a mini-business—translating strategy into action, spotting opportunities early, and building partnerships that open doors? With a strong pipeline and regular launches in heart, kidney, metabolic, lung, and immunology diseases, your work will accelerate patient access and invent how we evolve our go-to-market approach.
Accountabilities:
Territory Strategy Execution: Implement sales strategy and plan of action in line with company policies to deliver targets and high-quality, right-message engagement.
Performance Management: Monitor sales performance and leading indicators; diagnose gaps and adapt tactics to keep the territory on plan.
Market Development and Access: Secure listing and availability for newly launched and priority products across hospitals and clinics, removing barriers to prescribing and adoption.
Customer Partnership and Education: Build trust with HCPs and account collaborators through scientific dialogue and tailored solutions that support appropriate use of our medicines.
Insights and Competitive Intelligence: Analyse market dynamics and competitors to identify growth opportunities and inform local strategy; feed actionable insights to cross-functional partners.
Promotional Excellence: Plan and implement compliant promotional activities and educational programs that expand awareness and consideration of our portfolio.
Data Team and CRM: Maintain accurate customer classification, segmentation and call records to enable precision targeting, forecasting and measurement.
Compliance and Ethics: Role-model professionalism and act within the AstraZeneca Code of Conduct to protect patients, customers and the business.
Continuous Growth: Proactively identify development needs and partner with your first-line manager to build new capabilities and share best practices; contribute insights that inform broader regional plans over time.
Essential Skills/Experience:
Graduate degree in Science/Pharma
Passion for Sales
Interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills
Excellent Communication Skills
Good Planning and Organisational Skills
Excellent Scientific knowledge
Ability to develop Strategic Partnerships
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Proven success in pharmaceutical sales or account management, preferably in specialty care
Experience launching new products and securing formulary or hospital listing
Therapeutic area familiarity across cardiovascular, renal, metabolic, respiratory or immunology diseases
Proficiency with CRM and analytics tools to drive insight-led territory planning
Strong network across hospitals, clinics and key opinion leaders in the territory
Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams (e.g., medical, market access, marketing)
Track record of building strategic partnerships with healthcare systems and institutions
