Responsibilities

The Reliability Engineer is responsible for the availability, performance, monitoring, and incident response of cloud platforms and services. They ensure production compliance with requirements such as diagrams, service dependencies, logging plans, and high availability setups.

Requirements

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 8 years of experience in enterprise cloud or infrastructure environments. An active Secret clearance, IAT-2 certification, and at least one cloud certification are required.

  • Core Knowledge & Skills: Develops enterprise security architectures, frameworks, and standards; utilizes advanced forensics and integrates solutions with IT systems.

  • Work & Complexity: Designs secure architectures, manages integration projects, leads strategic initiatives, and enforces policies and standards.

  • Quality & Independence: Ensures integrity and scalability, develops comprehensive strategies, and optimizes solutions for performance and efficiency.

  • Teamwork & Communication: Leads architectural teams, builds partnerships, manages knowledge, and communicates strategies and executive reports.

  • Consulting & Engagement: Provides architectural consulting, leads innovation initiatives, evaluates enterprise technologies, and builds strategic partnerships.


As your initial project assignment, you will support the unique needs of our client as a Reliability Engineer.



Project Summary

AIS is supporting federal customer with a program focused on architecture and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the availability, performance, monitoring, and incident response, among other things, of the cloud platforms and services.

  • Ensure that everything that goes to production complies with a set of general requirements like diagrams, dependencies of other services, monitoring and logging plans, backups and possible high availability setups.

  • Manages uncaught exceptions, hardware degradation, networking problems, high usage of resources, or slow responses that could happen at any time.

  • Uses metrics such as mean time to recover (MTTR) and mean time to failure (MTTF).

  • Considered an emerging authority, who applies extensive technical expertise.

  • Develops technical solutions to complex problems.

  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment

Required For This Opportunity

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 8+ years of relevant experience supporting enterprise cloud and/or infrastructure environments.

  • Certifications: IAT-2, 1 or more cloud certifications.

  • Active Secret clearance (or higher).

  • Experience working in regulated environments and following secure engineering / documentation practices.

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience supporting DoD/IC programs and mission systems.



At AIS, we are committed to offering competitive and fair compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and contributions of each team member.

The targeted base salary range for this role is $138,000-$209,000 per year. Please note that this range is provided as a guideline and the final offer will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, skillset and competencies, level of experience, education, certifications, and location.
