Job Description:
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer for BILH Medical Group, the VP, Specialty Care Operations oversees all aspects of the BILH Specialty Care (BILHSC) clinical and administrative enterprise in a dyad partnership with the BILHSC Chief Medical Officer. This includes quality, safety, patient experience, colleague engagement, clinical program development, budgeting and financial management, career development and performance management of administrative staff and clinicians across more than 50 practices spanning 30+ clinical specialties across multiple regions and care settings.
A defining feature of this role is the breadth and complexity of its external relationships. Within the Community Division, the VP, Specialty Care Operations will collaborate closely with local hospitals, including BID Plymouth, Mount Auburn Hospital, Anna Jaques Hospital, Beverly Hospital, Winchester Hospital, and others, to align specialty program strategy, physician and APP engagement, quality, and clinical standards. These relationships are essential to coordinating specialty referral networks, managing employed specialist alignment, and advancing service line development across the integrated system.
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of practice operations across BILHSC. Partner with the BILHSC CMO tooptimizequality, safety, access, patient experience, provider and staff engagement, and financial performance. Maintain clinical operationsin accordance withapplicable accreditation, statutory, and regulatory requirements. (essential)
Lead operational strategy execution. Collaborate with BILHMG leadership to develop and implement a strategic operational plan for BILHSC, ensuring practices have the readiness to support growth initiatives and remain market competitive.(essential)
Drive performance visibility and accountability. Maintain full operational visibility across staffing models, supplyutilization, Epic workflows, and front-end revenue cycle across all BILHSC specialties and regions.Identifyand implement best practices and reduce regional variation whereappropriate. Build and lead specialty affinity groups. Establish structured forums for cross-regional learning and best practice sharing within key specialties, with a longer-term view towardenhanced collaboration and coordinated program development. Support outmigration reduction and growth strategies. Partner with BILHMG and hospital leadership on service line expansion, ambulatory development, and specialty-specific initiatives to reduce controllable outmigration and grow market share. (essential)
Lead budget management for BILHSC. In partnership with BILHSC and BILHMG leadership, oversee the budget process including volume, revenue, and expense accountability across all specialty practices. Develop and implement variance mitigation plans as needed. (essential)

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor'sdegree required andMaster'sdegree preferred but not required, or at least10+ years of significant and graduated leadership responsibility, including clinical operations and financial management, preferably at a senior level in a large,geographically distributed multi-specialty practice network within an employed physician group or integrated health system.
Nuanced understanding of ambulatory specialty operations, finance, human resource management, health IT, Epic workflows, and content knowledgeregardingquality, safety, patient experience, and clinical performance management across a heterogeneous specialty portfolio. Familiarity withwRVU-based physician compensation models and specialty physician labor market dynamics.
Credible, market-facing operational leader with strength of presence and strong influencing skills. Able to manage complex, shifting organizational dynamics across hospital-based and ambulatory settings. Demonstrated strength in both strategy and execution, with the ability to hold teams and individuals accountable in a dyad leadership model.
Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint orAccessand other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, performanalysisandmaintaindatabases.
