Shift: Sunday - Thursday 6am-2pm EST.
Under general supervision, the Responder coordinates and serves as a resource for daily operations of a program or service. Act as a liaison between program or service and its internal and external partners. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.
Specific responsibilities: Respond to disaster-related incidents and provide services to clients.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: high school
Prefer someone residing in one of the 5 Boroughs.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness. Prioritize and plan work activities. Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events. Maintain confidentiality and work with integrity and ethics. Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Ability to work on a team.
NOTE: Must pass a preliminary evaluation requirement following a probationary training period.
Travel: Will involve travel in the field. Current valid driver's license required.
PAY INFORMATION:
The salary range for this position is (New York): $25.50
Note that the American Red Cross sets salary ranges aligned to a specific geographic location in which the work is performed. The stated salary range in this posting is an average. The specific salary information will be shared at the time of phone screening based upon your location and qualifications.
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic). The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
