Responsibilities

Implement fundraising initiatives and program delivery within the Connecticut market, including the Out of the Darkness Community Walks. Manage chapter boards, volunteers, and community relationships to increase awareness and support for the mission.

Reports to: VP, Eastern Division

Location: Remote - Must reside in Connecticut

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Responsible for implementing AFSP’s fundraising and program initiatives within assigned market area and working with chapter(s) in or around service area.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement AFSP Out of the Darkness Community Walks and other approved fundraising within the assigned market, including additional fundraising events 
  • Implement approved programs within the assigned market area including survivor programs, education programs and awareness initiatives 
  • Responsible for development and support of the Chapter board and committees within the market
  • In conjunction with Chapter Boards develop business plan and budget for assigned market area
  • Responsible for volunteer management, including recruiting, training, assigning and recognizing volunteers within assigned market area
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with community leaders and organizations to promote AFSP’s message, build support for our mission and increase involvement in AFSP events and programs
  • Work with media to publicize AFSP events and mission and to heighten public awareness and reach fundraising goals
  • Responsible for fiscal management, including relationships with vendors, handling cash, expense management and working with National Office on accounts payable and receivables
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education N/A

Experience and/or Training Minimum 2 years’ experience in non profit program delivery and peer to peer special event fundraising

Licenses/Certificates N/A

Technology/Equipment Experience using general office technology; Microsoft Office Suite


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Bachelors Degree

Experience and/or Training 3+ years’ experience in non profit program delivery and peer to peer special event fundraising

Licenses/Certificates N/A

  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills required
  • Strong public speaking skills

  • Ability to work a full-time schedule and have regular attendance at the workplace.

  • Ability to travel as needed to attend work meetings or events

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds while moving files or small packages.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.   • This role requires you to have a driver’s license and/or the ability to drive across your state(s) to which the role is a steward; must be able to rent vehicle on behalf of AFSP as needed.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

 

Role will be fully remote, work from home unless required to appear in person to deliver programming or for other assigned events or conferences. Travel is required. Must reside in service territory.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: 

Annual salary range: $68,700 - 75,000 

22 PTO (vacation, sick, wellness and personal days) your first year of employment (5 additional days 2nd year) 

Medical, Vision and Dental Insurance

10% employer retirement contribution after 2 years of employment 

Flexible Summer Fridays 

11 Holidays
