Job Summary
Florida Gulf Coast University's Marieb College of Health & Human Services and the School of Nursing are seeking CRNA educators to teach at the graduate level and to be involved in course and/or curriculum development and research/scholarship. Both positions will report to the Director of Nursing.
The Assistant/Associate Professor CRNA will join MCHHS at an exciting time in the college's history. Architectural planning has already commenced for the new academic building to foster the college's projected growth. Additionally, a renewed focus is on interprofessional education and utilizing emerging technology through a generous philanthropic gift.

Job Description
Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
Teaches at the graduate level in the DNP Nurse Anesthesiology Program courses and across other graduate-level nursing courses, as needed, based on qualifications and experience.
Mentor students who are completing the DNP Project.
Conduct clinical teaching and simulation labs and advising.
Conducts scholarship as described in Faculty Performance Evaluation Document (FPED) and college documents.
Provides service to school, college, university, and professional community in the form of committees, accreditation activities, etc.
Functions as an effective, active, and collegial team member.
Plans, prepares, and teaches assigned courses, including developing syllabi, instructional materials, and assessments.
Delivers consistent, interactive, and engaging lectures aligned with curriculum goals and accreditation standards.
Maintains the highest standards of classroom instruction and engages in reflective self-assessment to ensure continuous improvement.
Holds regular office hours and provides academic advising and individual support to students.
Utilizes the University's learning management system and other instructional technologies effectively.
Collaborates with departmental faculty on curriculum development and program advancement.
Ensures curriculum outcomes and accreditation standards are met.
Establishes and maintains an active research program, including opportunities for undergraduate student involvement.
Demonstrates evidence of scholarly publication and grantsmanship.
Engages in continued professional development and maintains professional skills appropriate to rank and field.
Actively participates in departmental, college, and university committees and meetings.
Contributes to community, institutional, and professional service in support of the University’s mission.
Participates in faculty evaluation, student learning assessment, and required training activities.
Communicates professionally and in a timely manner with students, colleagues, staff, and administrators.
Upholds the highest standards of integrity, responsibility, and excellence in all professional activities.
Complies with University policies, procedures, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Additional Job Description
Required Qualifications:
Doctoral degree with a Nurse Anesthesia major from a regionally accredited institution and nationally accredited nurse anesthesia program (or equivalent)
Three or more years of clinical experience in the CRNA role
Current unrestricted license as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of Florida or eligible for licensure
Current CRNA certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a faculty member in a nursing education program at the college/university level
Experience with virtual/distance teaching platform experience
Experience with simulation in education
Evidence of scholarship leading to professional presentations, research, and/or publications
Service in professional organizations (e.g., membership and/or committee involvement)
Bi- or multi-lingual, with Spanish preferred as one of the languages
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of nursing and clinical nursing practice.
Knowledge of major concepts, assumptions, debates, processes of inquiry, and ways of knowing that are central to the discipline(s).
Understanding how to use digital and interactive technologies for efficiently and effectively achieving specific learning goals.
Knowledge of critical thinking processes and understanding how to help learners develop high level questioning skills.
Knowledge and skill in the use of inquiry-based instructional models and strategies.
Ability to efficiently use computer applications and web-based tools to complete work tasks.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally
Knowledge and ability to use technology in various teaching modalities (e.g. Face-to-face, synchronous online or asynchronous online).
Ability to collaborate with stakeholders both within and outside the University in the development and delivery of instruction, resulting in improved student learning.
