Additional Job Details
Facilities Management operates an integrated facilities platform built on Planon, connected to Workday, Banner, StarRez, and ArcGIS Online through an FM-operated integration layer. The platform carries work management, preventive maintenance, asset management, space and building data, field technician mobile operations, and work order cost recovery supporting the entire Oxford campus.
This position is the analyst for that platform. It sits between the people who perform facilities work and the systems that run it. The work is to understand what a trades supervisor, a dispatcher, an accountant, or a planner actually needs, determine whether the answer is configuration, integration, process change, or training, and then deliver or specify it.
The role is technical. It requires reading and writing SQL, understanding REST APIs and JSON, tracing data through an integration pipeline, and configuring an enterprise application directly. It is not a software development position and does not require building applications from scratch.
Required in addition to the minimum qualifications: demonstrated ability to gather requirements from non-technical users and produce written specifications from them; working SQL proficiency, sufficient to write queries with joins and aggregation against a relational database without assistance; experience configuring or administering an enterprise business application.
Job Responsibilities:
Work directly with FM shops, Dispatch, Facilities Planning, FM Accounting, and Environmental Health and Safety to gather requirements and translate them into written configuration specifications, integration requirements, or process recommendations.
Configure Planon directly, including field definitions, business objects, task-specific interfaces, self-service forms, navigation and user groups, alerts, and reporting.
Own assigned functional modules end to end, which may include preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance and service requests, asset management, timecard, or work order cost recovery.
Build and maintain reports and dashboards for FM leadership, shop supervisors, and campus customers.
Monitor the health of the Workday to Planon integration, triage failures to root cause, and investigate data quality issues across personnel, positions, departments, properties, spaces, and assets.
Serve as escalation for platform issues the help desk cannot resolve, and build and deliver training for back-office users, shop supervisors, and field technicians on mobile devices.
Work with Planon consultants on design questions and defect resolution, and coordinate with campus IT counterparts on shared data and interfaces.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with a CMMS, IWMS, or EAM platform, with Planon ideal and Maximo, TMA, AiM, FAMIS, Archibus, Asset Essentials or similar directly relevant; a track record of translating between operational staff and technical staff, demonstrated by specific examples; working knowledge of relational databases and comfort reading REST API documentation and JSON payloads.
Also valuable:
Facilities, construction, utilities, manufacturing, or another operations-heavy environment in any capacity; higher education, government, or another regulated public-sector environment; experience with an ERP or HCM system, particularly Workday, SAP, or Banner; business process mapping and documentation; reporting and visualization tools; experience working alongside an external software vendor; version control and basic scripting in Python or similar.
The degree field is open. Strong candidates for this role come from facilities operations, business analysis, management information systems, accounting, and the trades as often as they come from software. Professional software development experience is not expected.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor's (Required)
Experience:
Relevant experience | 3 Years | Required
Compensation:
$68,681.60 - $103,001.60
Interview Requirement:
Interview Requirements: Any candidate who is called for an interview must notify the Department of Equal Opportunity/Regulatory Compliance in writing of any reasonable accommodation needed prior to the date of the interview.
EEO Statement:
The University of Mississippi provides equal opportunity in any employment practice, education program, or education activity to all qualified persons.
