The Activities Assistant develops and implements comprehensive programs to enrich the lives of residents in a healthcare facility. They coordinate monthly calendars, manage volunteers, and collaborate with staff to support residents' cognitive and physical health.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and at least one year of experience in activity planning, preferably in a healthcare setting. A valid driver's license and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required.
The Activities Assistant plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in primarily responsible for assisting in the development, organization, coordination and implementation of comprehensive services and programs which enrich the lives of each resident. He/she shall assist the Director in areas of resident and staff relations and will be responsible for implementing and supervising programs and activities for residents in the Healthcare Facilities. The assistant collaborates closely with the Activities Assistant team to implement activities that encourage participation, foster independence, and support cognitive and physical health. By creating a positive and inclusive environment, the role contributes to residents' overall satisfaction and sense of community. Ultimately, the Activities Assistant helps to enrich daily living experiences and supports the mission of providing compassionate, person-centered care.

The Activities Assistant utilizes strong communication skills daily to engage residents effectively and foster a supportive atmosphere. Organizational skills are essential for planning and executing diverse activities that meet individual and group needs. Empathy and patience are critical when working with residents who may have physical or cognitive limitations, ensuring activities are inclusive and enjoyable. Collaboration skills enable the assistant to work seamlessly with healthcare professionals to align recreational programs with residents' care plans. Additionally, problem-solving abilities help adapt activities in real-time to accommodate varying resident responses and preferences, enhancing overall participation and satisfaction.
