The Youth Services Advisor will assist youth and caregivers in navigating library collections and resources while planning and presenting creative programs. They will also collaborate with library professionals on outreach initiatives and staff the Kids' World desk and teen Hub space.
Candidates should possess strong communication skills, proficiency with technology, and an ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. An undergraduate degree or equivalent knowledge is required, along with a preference for experience in customer service and working with youth.

We're hiring a friendly, eager-to-learn Youth Services Advisor to join our Kids' World and Hub teams. With on-the-job training, you'll help youth and caregivers navigate our collection, plan and lead creative programs, and connect our community to everything the library has to offer.
We're looking for someone who thrives on building relationships with youth and caregivers, brings energy to every interaction, and is ready to grow with a team of skilled library professionals.

Hours and Scheduling:
Part-time, averaging 20 hours per week, including one regular weeknight and a weekend rotation. Scheduling flexibility is needed to support the team and our customers.
Benefits:

The Arlington Heights Memorial Library (AHML) is one of the busiest single-building libraries in the country. For the 11th time (in 2022), AHML received a five-star rating in Library Journal's national rating of public libraries, a designation received by only 10 public libraries nationwide, and only three in Illinois in the AHML budget category. The library serves a population of 75,000 Arlington Heights residents, as well as customers that visit from neighboring communities.
