Lead complex consultancy engagements to improve engineering outputs and accelerate digital transformation for clients in mobility and tech hardware sectors. Develop deep insights into people and processes to shape solutions and manage cross-functional resources for successful deployment.
Requirements
Requires 5+ years of consulting expertise with a strong background in the design and release of complex products in automotive, aerospace, or rail industries. Must possess exceptional communication skills and the ability to present data-driven solutions to stakeholders.
Full job description
QR's reputation for product data management and consultancy has put us at the vanguard of transforming the automotive, aerospace and robotics industries across the globe, as they seek to build better products and a more sustainable future. As a team, we are particularly excited to be supporting the development of some truly planet-changing products, including connected, electric and solar vehicles and an increasingly diverse range of new technologies. We’re very proud to have been named in the FT’s Leading Consultancies list for third year running!
With more new and exciting projects in development, Quick Release are seeking to strengthen our consultancy team at Senior and Lead Consultant Levels, and we’re welcoming applications from experienced Management Consultants and Senior Technical Project Managers who are looking for a new and rewarding challenge.
Quick Release’s team of consultants deliver varied, complex and impactful engagements for companies (including many small businesses and start-ups) who are looking to get their new technology to market quicker and more efficiently.
Every project is different, and our consultants are empowered to leverage their judgment and expertise to solve a broad range of clients’ challenges with the aim of:
improving engineering outputs
accelerating programs
digital transformation and support
preparing for a more sustainable future
Usually starting with a diagnostic, projects very often rapidly scale-up into much larger hands-on, cross-functional deployments, and we take great pride in our ability to provide the knowledge, resources and digital tools to make a real, lasting difference to our clients.
If your next role needs to offer ownership of interesting, exciting and impactful projects, a genuinely positive and caring company culture, great learning and progression, and products that are both ground-breaking and good for the planet, then please get in contact for an informal chat (either via the application form below or LinkedIn).
The Challenge
Work with clients to develop a deep insight into people, process, system and data, to complete diagnostics and reporting.
Develop strong relationships and become a trusted and knowledgeable advisor to clients.
Shape solutions, prepare and oversee project plans and manage cross-functional and cross-business resources to deliver desired outcomes.
Support deployments and development and of our technical/software tools and solutions.
Identify opportunities to evolve client accounts with future service and product offerings.
Attend and host regular washups and knowledge shares with other consultants.
Manage, develop and mentor analysts and consultants and contribute to QR's Knowledge Base
Support (QR internal) business improvement projects and initiatives
Most projects will have a requirement to be on-site for part of the working week. Our business units are split by region and team members are deployed within that region (unless by special arrangement). We also connect in regular Friday workshops in our Moorgate office.
5+ years of consulting expertise, scoping and leading client-facing engagements.
Strong project management and people leadership skills, inspiring trust and confidence from clients and teammates alike.
In depth knowledge of how complex products and parts are designed, developed and released across mobility (automotive /aerospace /rail) or tech hardware sectors.
Exceptional professional written and verbal communication skills; you can walk and talk with manufacturing, technical and business contacts.
Strong data skills - able to demonstrate the ability to present data-driven stories and solutions that stakeholders will buy into.
The ability to effectively manage and use the peaks and troughs of activity and down-time with Agile project delivery.
The confidence and resilience to learn from mistakes- to get back up and try again or keep pushing forwards when things aren't going to plan.
Genuine curiosity and drive to be the best, make a difference and drive change for people and planet.
Base salary between £51,660 and £58,045 with a 10% bonus for Consultant level.
Base salary between £70,960 and £79,731 with a 12% bonus for Lead Consultant level.
An extensive package of other benefits.
Varied and interesting projects with a broad remit for improvement, and some incredible products.
Career progression based on merit, plus a range of progression pathways (i.e. no glass-ceilings or pigeon-holing).
Ongoing learning and development, irrespective of seniority, plus 360 feedback.
A blend of on-site, off-site and WFH (depending on client/project needs) plus travel opportunities.
A highly motivated, diverse, talented and supportive team with a positive "people-focused" company culture.

Being the best at what we do is important, but Quick Release has always been about more than project delivery. We can only be the best by looking after our team and we are very much a "people-first" business. We offer an environment of support, inclusion and encouragement, where our people can be authentic, be heard, enjoy their work and thrive. Team-building, learning, development and career progression are at the core of what we do, and we take great pride in our positive company culture.
We also take pride in our diversity and we respect and value multiple approaches and points of view. We challenge inequality in all its forms, in others, and especially in ourselves. We’re not perfect, but we want to be better and do better, and we are fully committed to this in our actions as well as words.
As an equal opportunities employer, Quick Release will never discriminate on the basis of gender, race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, socio-economic background, marital status, or disability status.
We're inviting candidates with 5+ years of relevant experience to apply for this role. Please see our other openings for roles requiring 0-5 years' experience.
This role may require you to have or be willing to go through National Security Vetting. As part of the onboarding process candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard; details of the evidence required to apply may be found on the government website Gov.UK. If you are unable to meet this and any associated criteria, then your employment may be delayed, or rejected . Details of this will be discussed with you at interview.
Quick Release_ is a go-to global provider of Product and Engineering Data management. 400 hands-on professionals work to build capability, accelerate development programmes, and enhance engineering teams’ efficiency alongside some of the largest, most innovative and prestigious manufacturers, technologists and Tier suppliers. Recognised by Forbes and the FT as a leading consultancy for automotive, we are increasingly partnering with space, defence, and aero organisations.
QR_’s mission is to enhance competitive advantage by bringing products to market faster and more efficiently. We do this by improving engineering data quality and flow through every part of a business from design to line and forward into in-service upgrades and maintenance. Operationally our expertise is clustered around Master Product Data, Prototype Build and Launch, and Production, Service and Maintenance, while strategically we drive change through Operational Performance Improvement, and Enterprise Lifecycle Transformation.
Convinced organisations must become truly data-driven to meet global challenges, but believing systems are not the only answer, QR_’s Quite Refreshing process focuses on getting data right, keeping it right, and delivering actionable insights to the right people at the right time. Identifying and tackling the biggest blockers of productivity, QR_ releases engineers to focus on the product, not the data.
And unlike many PLM vendors or big-name consultants, QR_ can combine big picture insights with unobtrusive implementation of meaningful and measurable improvements utilising existing systems and data sources. Make change not slides!
