Essential Duties:
Lead day-to-day field activities at a remote West Texas desalination facility, serving as the on-site point of contact and helping ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance.
Coordinate and prioritize daily work assignments for field technicians; verify completion, communicate changing priorities, and support effective shift coverage and handoffs.
Operate, monitor, and optimize desalination and water treatment processes; identify irregularities, take appropriate corrective action within established procedures, and promptly escalate safety, environmental, quality, or production concerns.
Lead hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of plant equipment, including pumps, valves, filters, piping systems, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and mechanical equipment.
Coordinate and perform preventative maintenance, routine equipment inspections, basic repairs, and field troubleshooting to maximize equipment reliability and plant uptime.
Provide hands-on training, coaching, and technical guidance to field technicians; reinforce standard operating procedures, safe work practices, and consistent documentation.
Collect, test, label, document, and prepare water and process samples for analysis; use basic math to support flow rate, measurement, chemical dosing, and other operational calculations.
Review operational reports, maintenance documentation, inspection logs, chain-of-custody records, and shift handoffs for completeness, accuracy, and timely submission.
Monitor critical parts, tools, chemicals, and operating supplies; communicate inventory needs and help coordinate deliveries and vendor or contractor support.
Ensure all work follows EPA, OSHA, company safety, environmental, and operational standards; reinforce stop-work authority and support incident reviews, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Communicate equipment status, open work, maintenance needs, and operating priorities to leadership, operations teams, external partners, vendors, and contractors.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while demonstrating strong ownership, initiative, sound judgment, and a collaborative leadership approach.
Requirements:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; Associate degree in a related technical field preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
5-7 years of experience in water treatment, desalination, industrial manufacturing or processing, oil and gas production, midstream operations, water management, utilities, power generation, municipal operations, mechanical maintenance, field service, or military mechanical/technical operations.
At least 1 year of lead, crew coordination, training, or senior technician experience preferred; demonstrated ability to guide work, communicate priorities, support team accountability, and serve as a field escalation point required.
Hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial equipment, pumps, valves, filters, piping systems, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and mechanical systems.
Demonstrated ability to interpret operating data, identify abnormal conditions, make sound field decisions, and escalate issues appropriately.
OTHER:
Submit to and satisfactorily complete pre-employment background, medical, alcohol, and drug screening.
Must possess a valid Driver's License.
Able and willing to work a rotating shift schedule that includes nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime, if applicable.
Able and willing to work independently in remote field locations and collaboratively with operations, maintenance, leadership, vendors, and contractors.
