General Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Senior Program Supervisor, the Prevention Specialist is a member of a mobile van-based outreach program providing syringe support services, harm reduction education and counseling, referrals, and other supportive services to people who use/inject drugs (PWUD/PWID) within the Mid-Hudson region. The position will be required to provide support services to the two mobile units providing services within Dutchess, Ulster, Orange, and Sullivan Counties as well as the Newburgh Hub as needed.

Our staff of nearly 400 employees includes over 40 Board Certified/Board Eligible Physicians, Dentists, physician’s assistants, nurse practitioners, a large nursing staff, and social work and counseling staff. To better meet the needs of the communities we serve, a large number of our employees are bilingual. From our humble beginnings, our Health Center now provides more than 25,000 adults and children in our region with comprehensive health care. Last year, we provided primary and preventative health care services totaling approximately 201,000 patient visits.
