Full job description

The Mountain Outfitters Rental Supervisor supports the daily operation of the rental department by providing leadership, training, and operational support to staff. This position helps ensure exceptional guest experience through efficient rental operations, equipment quality control, and a safe, organized work environment.

 

Essential Functions

  • Lead, coach, and support rental staff throughout daily operations.
  • Assist with staff training and ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Conduct daily staff briefings and communicate operational priorities.
  • Schedule and coordinate staff assignments to ensure efficient guest service.
  • Assist guests with inquiries and resolve concerns in a professional manner.
  • Oversee rental equipment inventory and monitor equipment condition and safety standards.
  • Administer binding certification training and maintain compliance with industry standards.
  • Ensure the rental shop remains clean, organized, and safe for guests and staff.
  • Assist with cash handling, point-of-sale procedures, and daily reconciliations.
  • Support inventory receiving, restocking, merchandising, and café operations as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete required reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with other resort departments to support overall resort operations.
  • Follow all company safety policies and emergency procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Experience/Requirements

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in rental, retail, hospitality, or resort operations preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and guest service skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Industry knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment.
  • Comfortable learning and using rental and point-of-sale systems.
  • Proven cash handling experience.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and peak operating periods.
  • Binding certification required or ability to obtain.
  • Food Safe and Serving It Right certifications are assets.
