The Material Handler ensures the efficient movement and staging of donated goods throughout the retail store to support speed-to-floor goals. This includes operating material handling equipment and maintaining an organized, safe environment in coordination with other team members.
Candidates must be able to safely operate equipment such as pallet jacks and carts while following OSHA safety standards. The role requires the ability to perform physical tasks like loading, unloading, and securing merchandise.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Material Handler supports Goodwill’s Donated Goods & Retail (DGR) optimization strategy by ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of donated goods throughout the retail store operation. This store-based role focuses on material flow, staging, and transport to support speed-to-floor, reduce unnecessary handling, and reinforce 1-Touch principles.
Working closely with the Donation Attendant, Sorter, Retail Producer, and others, the Material Handler helps maintain an organized, safe, and productive environment that supports downstream processing and retail execution.
