The Admissions Counselor manages the intake process by performing benefit eligibility checks and coordinating patient admissions and transfers. They are also responsible for conducting safety checks and maintaining clinical documentation to ensure proper authorization of care.
A bachelor's degree in a social services field is required, while a master's degree or RN licensure is preferred. Candidates should ideally have one or more years of experience in mental or behavioral health and must obtain CPR and de-escalation certifications.
