The technician manages surgical instrument inventory, including creating checklists, tracking repairs, and coordinating with vendors and OR specialists. They perform all duties of a Registered/Certified Sterile Processing Technologist to ensure appropriate instrumentation is available for procedures.
Candidates must possess strong fine motor skills for handling micro instrumentation and the physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Essential requirements include the ability to communicate clearly, follow strict departmental policies, and work under pressure.
Works under the supervision of the Manager-OR/SPD. Performs all the duties of the Registered/Certified Sterile Processing Technologist. Creates and updates instrument inventory lists and checklists. Monitors inventory levels and orders supplies when needed. Coordinates with SPD and OR specialists to maintain appropriate instrument sets. Monitors and tracks instrument repairs and replacements. Manages loaner instrumentation sets. Works closely with Instrument Reps, vendors, and OR Specialists to ensure appropriate instrumentation is available.
